World's top golfers, including the defending champion, Rory McIlroy, are back at Pebble Beach for the 2026 season of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. So let's take a look at what's at stake for this edition of the tournament.

Well, the stakes are huge. A $20 million total purse, with $3.6 million for the winner, and 700 FedExCup points are on the line. McIlroy won the lion's share of the purse in the 2025 Pebble Beach Pro-Am by beating Shane Lowry by two shots.

While, the Northern Irishman hasn't played on the PGA Tour yet in 2026. He's made three DP World Tour starts, finishing third at the Dubai Invitational in January and 33rd at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

However, the participants panel for the tournament says that defending his throne wouldn't be a cakewalk for McIlroy.

Scottie Scheffler Leads Big Names at Pebble Beach Pro-Am

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the favorite for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am at +300 odds on BetMGM, while McIlroy is second at +1400.

Scheffler won The American Express in January 2026 by four shots at 27-under par. It was his 20th PGA Tour win in just four years. He joined Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players with 20 Tour wins and four majors before age 30.

"It's been a great start to my career," Scheffler said after his American Express win. "I try not to think about that stuff too much. I was just trying to do the things I needed to do to be prepared."

The tournament takes place from February 12 to 15, 2026, at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill in California. It’s the first big event of the season with no cut, and all 80 players play all four rounds.

Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, and Farmers Insurance Open winner Justin Rose will join Scheffler and McIlroy in the star-studded field.

The first two days include a pro-am, where each pro plays with an amateur. Players play Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill on Thursday and Friday, then finish the last two rounds at Pebble Beach.

Do you think McIlroy will manage to defend his throne successfully, or will Scheffler prove his worth as the World No. 1?
