Ever since they teed off at the PNC Championship back in 2016, John Daly and his son have been a constant presence at the event.

As they make their 10th consecutive appearance at the 2025 PNC Championship, a look back at their tournament history highlights their scores, finishes, and consistency.

How their PNC journey started

In 2016, the Dalys finished tied for eighth at 17-under par. They followed their debut with placing tied ninth at 18-under in 2017.

Their breakthrough came in 2018, when Team Daly delivered a standout performance, carding rounds of 59 and 62 to finish runner-up at 23-under, their best result at the event at that point. They continued their consistent run in 2019, finishing fifth at 12-under

Across those first four appearances, the duo never finished outside the top half of the field and steadily improved their scoring output in the two-day scramble format.

Setbacks and success

The 2020 PNC Championship came after Daly was diagnosed with bladder cancer in September 2020 and underwent surgery earlier that fall. Despite managing ongoing health concerns, Daly competed alongside his son, and Team Daly finished eighth at 19-under.

Team Daly’s defining moment arrived in 2021. Playing the event for the sixth time, the father–son pairing captured the PNC Championship title with a record-setting 27-under-par total, the lowest score in tournament history.

They finished two shots ahead of Tiger Woods and his son Charlie, withstanding an 11-birdie stretch by Team Woods during the final round.

The Dalys returned in 2022 as defending champions, with Daly having delayed his left knee replacement surgery until the day after the tournament so he could compete alongside his son.

Team Daly finished T-2 at 24-under, tying Justin Thomas and his father Mike Thomas, and finishing two strokes behind Vijay Singh and his son Qass Singh, who won at 26-under.

In 2023, the duo once again contended, finishing fifth at 19-under, and in 2024, they made their 10th straight appearance, finishing tied for eighth at 20-under. In the 2024 edition, the duo finished tied for eighth.

Despite ongoing physical limitations for the elder Daly, Team Daly has participated in every PNC Championship from 2016 through 2024, never withdrawing from the event.
