A Look at Rory McIlroy’s Last Five Years on the PGA Tour: Wins, Prize Money, and More

Between 2021 and 2025, Rory McIlroy won 10 PGA Tour events, captured a third FedExCup title, and also completed his career Grand Slam.
With those milestones in place, let's look back at how McIlroy's last five PGA Tour seasons played out.
Rory McIlroy's run on the PGA Tour from 2021 to 2024
McIlroy’s 2021 PGA Tour season included two wins, starting with the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow in May, where he finished at 10-under 274 and earned $1,458,000. He followed that up in October by winning THE CJ CUP @ SUMMIT, closing at 25-under 263 and bagging another $1,755,000.
The Wells Fargo title came after an over-par opening round and marked his third win at Quail Hollow. McIlroy's CJ CUP victory also gave him his 20th career PGA Tour win, helping secure lifetime membership on the PGA Tour, which only became fully active after the 2022–23 season ended.

The 2022 season of the PGA Tour enhanced McIlroy’s glory even more as he earned three wins and a third FedExCup title.
He started by winning the RBC Canadian Open in June at 19-under 261, earning $1,566,000, before taking the season-ending TOUR Championship in August at 21-under 263 for $18,000,000.
The 36-year-old also repeated his 2021 feat of winning the CJ CUP in 2022. This time, McIlroy scored 17-under 267 in South Carolina at Congaree Golf Club to win the tournament and earn another $1,890,000. The 2021 Tour Championship winner also secured his third FedExCup, as he closed a six-shot gap to beat Scottie Scheffler.
While McIlroy did not win a major in 2022, he stayed in contention across all four, finishing runner-up at the Masters, third at The Open Championship, and inside the top 10 at both the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open.
By the end of 2022, his results across the PGA Tour and DP World Tour helped him return to world No. 1 in October.
In the 2023 PGA Tour season, McIlroy recorded one official win and posted 13 top-10 finishes. His only victory came in July at the Genesis Scottish Open, a co-sanctioned event that counted on both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.
At the majors, the year started with a missed cut at the Masters. Still, he responded with stronger results in the remaining three, finishing runner-up at the U.S. Open, 17th at the PGA Championship, and T6 at The Open Championship.

Still, McIlroy made more than $13.9 million in official PGA Tour prize money and another $15 million after finishing first in the Player Impact Program (PIP) standings.
McIlroy’s 2024 season started with a win at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a team event, before he added another PGA Tour title at the Wells Fargo Championship. The 36-year-old earned $1.2 million and $3.6 million, respectively, from the two victories.
By the end of the 2024 season, he had two official PGA Tour victories and finished third in the FedExCup standings.
In the majors, he did not win, but he came closest at the U.S. Open, where he finished second behind Bryson DeChambeau after the final round.
McIlroy also placed T12 at the PGA Championship, missed the cut at The Open Championship, and finished T22 at the Masters. However, the best was yet to come for him.
Rory McIlroy's best season in the PGA Tour so far
McIlroy described the 2025 season as potentially the "best" of his entire career. In the 2025 PGA Tour season, the Northern Ireland native won three events and completed the career Grand Slam with his first Masters Tournament title.
McIlroy began with a win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. He then won THE PLAYERS Championship in March. McIlroy finished the run by winning the Masters in April. The cumulative amount he earned from these three victories stood at a staggering $12.3 million.
These victories took his PGA Tour win total to 29, tying Harry Cooper for the most by a European player.
The Master's win came in his 17th start at Augusta National. It also made him the sixth golfer to win all four modern majors. He beat Justin Rose in a one-hole playoff.
Hence, it will be interesting to witness what the 2026 season has in store for him.
