At the Valspar Championship, the PGA Tour gave players an option to customize their caddie bibs. Adam Svensson took that opportunity to promote something bigger than the sport itself.

He chose to highlight 13-year-old Delaney Edmiston's fight against a rare form of cancer.

"She has been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma—an ultra-rare and aggressive cancer that accounts for less than 1% of all childhood cancers," reads the GoFundMe page created on December 18th, 2025

As per the PGA Tour, Delaney was in Florida for treatment from March 19 through 22 and could attend the 2026 Valspar Championship. While she was there, she also met Tony Finau.

"An athlete at heart, she plays EVERY sport her school offers(!), her favorites being ice hockey and baseball. She is eager to get back out and play when she completes treatment," added the PGA Tour's X account.

Meanwhile, Adam Svensson's gesture has helped Edmiston raise $93,254 toward her $100K CAD goal as donations continue to pour in. However, this is far from the first time a golfer or the Tour has spread cancer awareness.

PGA Tour’s Ongoing Role in Pediatric Cancer Awareness

Each year in September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the PGA Tour and its players bring attention to the cause by sharing stories and supporting those affected.

Players like Joel Dahmen have also advocated cancer awareness. He even founded the Dahmen Family Foundation with his wife, Lona, to help families with the "hidden" costs of treatment.

That effort extends into tournament partnerships as well. The FedEx St. Jude Championship regularly partners with the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Their young patients' drawings feature on the caddie bibs at the tournament.

"The 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship will once again come alive with color, creativity, and purpose. The world’s top 70 PGA TOUR pros, along with fans and a global audience, will see St. Jude patient art on course," they announced last year.

Meanwhile, initiatives like Sock Out Cancer also work alongside the golf community to help families manage housing and travel costs during treatment.
