Amazon Prime’s Masters Debut Brings Jack Nicklaus Into a Fresh Broadcast Lineup

Mar 31, 2026, 8:48 PM CUT

In 2025, Amazon Prime Video secured a deal with Augusta National Golf Club to air the Masters Tournament in 2026. Changes were anticipated as the outcome of the deal, and with nine days to go, an appreciable announcement is here.

Jack Nicklaus, the seven-time Masters winner, will be part of the broadcast team at this year’s Masters.

Amazon’s first broadcast of the Masters will feature the Golden Bear. Coverage will be done from the historic Butler Cabin, and it will be complemented by CBS Sports’ on-air team.

The 18-time major winner will also be performing his traditional duty as an honorary starter on Thursday morning. He would be accompanied by Gary Player and Tom Watson, who have won the Masters five times combined.

NBC/Golf Channel reporter Terry Gannon will be anchoring the broadcast for both days. However, unlike the previous years, he will not be joined by a regular analyst. This time around, Amazon has decided to pave the way for special guests.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of The Golden Bear’s final Masters win. Nicklaus became the oldest champion at the Masters when he secured the Green Jacket back in 1986.

The specifics of Nicklaus’ participation with the broadcasting team haven’t yet been disclosed.

New Developments Under Amazon

Prime Video will include a dedicated Amen Corner feed. It would be a team of five: 2006 U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy, NBC Sports’ John Wood, Golf Channel’s Smylie Kaufman, host Justin Kutcher, and instructor Michael Breed.

“It’s an honor for all of us at Amazon to become a broadcast partner of the Masters Tournament and to provide fans additional hours of live coverage of this treasured event,” said Jay Marine, Head of Prime Video US and global sports.

Prime Video will include a new two-hour window, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET, before rounds 1 and 2 begin. It will also have featured group coverage and dedicated feeds for the 15th and 16th holes.

Prime Video has made a huge leap in terms of streaming live sports. They’ve acquired rights to the NFL’s Thursday Night Football and also to NBA, WNBA, and NWSL games. It made its entry into golf with the Skins Game reboot on Black Friday in 2025.

With Nicklaus joining their first broadcast of the Masters this time, Prime Video will definitely be in the spotlight.
