Nelly Korda closed out November with news that travelled far beyond the golf world. The World No. 2 shared her engagement on Instagram, posting a series of beachside photos with the caption, “In this life & the next ,” followed by a ring emoji. The announcement quickly drew attention from athletes, fans, and LPGA insiders, adding a personal milestone to a career already defined by historic achievements.

Korda’s engagement comes at the end of her 9th LPGA season, one that tested her consistency after a dominant 2024. Even without a victory in 2025, she remained one of the tour’s most consistent performers, closing with multiple high finishes and strong season-long statistics. With 15 career wins, 2 major championships, and with $16.1 million in official earnings, she enters the next phase of her life as one of the sport’s most accomplished players.

Below are the key facts that outline her rise, her record, and her impact on the LPGA Tour.

A Sporting Legacy From Bradenton

Nelly grew up in Bradenton, Florida, in a household where professional sport wasn’t just encouraged, it was the family language. Her father, Petr, arrived in the United States as a rising tennis star and eventually won the 1998 Australian Open, while her mother, Regina, also competed at the top level and represented Czechoslovakia. Their careers shaped the rhythm of the Korda home, where travelling, training, and competition were part of everyday life.

That environment extended to their children. Jessica, the eldest, is a 6-time LPGA winner, and their younger brother, Sebastian, climbed the ATP rankings to become a top-50 tennis player. Nelly, the middle child, found her own direction early. She began taking golf seriously at age 6, practicing multiple times a week and steadily building the discipline that would define her career. By 14, she qualified for the 2013 U.S. Women’s Open and made the cut, tying for 64th place, a moment that signaled her rise long before she turned professional.

From Rookie to Consistent Contender

Korda turned professional in 2016, earning her LPGA Tour card the following season. Her first LPGA victory arrived in 2018 at the Swinging Skirts Taiwan Championship, beginning a run of steady progress that would define her early years on tour.

Her breakout came in 2021. Korda won 4 LPGA titles that season, including her first major at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, where she finished 19-under-par to defeat Lizette Salas by 3 shots. Weeks later,  she became the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in golf since 1900 at the Tokyo Olympics, edging Mone Inami and Lydia Ko in one of the most closely fought finishes in the event’s history.

A Historic 2024 Season

Korda’s most dominant stretch arrived in 2024, when she produced one of the greatest seasons in modern LPGA history. She recorded 7 victories in 16 starts, including her 2nd major at the Chevron Championship, finishing at 13-under-par to clinch the title.

Her run included 5 consecutive wins, matching the LPGA record shared by Annika Sörenstam and Nancy Lopez. She also reclaimed the World No. 1 ranking, earned the Rolex Player of the Year honor, and secured the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award, becoming one of the few players to achieve both in a single season.

A Measured 2025, Still Marked by High Finishes

Though 2025 did not produce a trophy, Korda delivered several notable performances. She tied for 2nd at the U.S. Women’s Open, finishing at 5-under-par overall (with a total score of 283), but she was two shots behind the champion Maja Stark's 7-under-par (281). Earlier in the year, she opened the season with a solo second at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, closing with rounds of 71-67-67-65.

She ended the year with a solo third at the CME Group Tour Championship, finishing at 20-under-par behind the eventual winner. Across nineteen starts, she recorded nine top-10 finishes and earned more than $2,780,355 million in official LPGA prize money for the season.

Beyond the Scorecard

Besides playing with clubs and balls, she has partnered with major brands including Nike, TaylorMade, Goldman Sachs, TUMI, and WHOOP, contributing to an endorsement portfolio that pushed her annual off-course earnings above $10 million in 2024. She appeared in Sports Illustrated’s 2025 Swimsuit Edition and made history in 2024 as the 1st LPGA player to attend the Met Gala.

With her engagement marking a new personal milestone, the golf world now waits to see what Nelly Korda does next, both on and off the course.
