LIV Golf reportedly will undergo changes as a result of its financial turmoil. With rumors circulating that the PIF will withdraw funding after this season, Australia’s Lucas Herbert spoke of the players' shared intention to stick with LIV.

After a successful event at Club de Golf Chapultepec, which saw Jon Rahm come out victorious, a player meeting was held. Sources claim that senior players like Bryson DeChambeau and Rahm offered support to the league’s future prospects.

“All the players are committed to the league. They have had ample opportunities to leave if they want to, but they are still here.” Herbert said, as shared by Flushing It on X.

Speculation persists regarding the league's long-term financial stability and structure.

“Whether they are satisfied with what the organization is doing right now or not, they are sticking by it with optimism and belief that collectively we can build it into something we can all be proud of; a highly competitive tour that goes all over the world,” he said.

Marquee players like Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed left LIV ahead of this season, while signings such as Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Phil Mickelson, and Cameron Smith have remained committed. The Returning Members Program reopened a path for PGA pros, but only Koepka opted in.

Herbert said LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil improved the brand in the offseason and made the TV product easier for new viewers to understand, including both the individual and team formats.

O’Neil has also been optimistic about LIV Golf’s future. Last week, he made it clear that the season would continue “exactly as planned, uninterrupted and at full throttle.”

A return to Mexico City was announced on April 19, 2026 for next season. It will join Riyadh, Hong Kong, Adelaide, and South Africa as committed venues on the 2027 schedule.

LIV Golf’s Viewership Overview For The Season

Over 90,000 tickets were sold for the LIV Golf South Africa event, helped by concerts and parties that pulled in a wider crowd.

Adelaide was bigger. Over 115,000 fans turned up across four days at The Grange Golf Club as Anthony Kim returned after nearly 12 years and won.

Hong Kong also saw decent viewership. However, Riyadh only averaged around 23,000 viewers across four days. The low viewership was attributed to time zone conflicts for U.S. fans.
