Kai Trump didn’t set out to make a statement about her identity. But in a lighthearted video uploaded to her official YouTube channel on February 7, 2026, titled “A Coin Controls My Life for 24 Hours!”, Kai Trump revealed something more personal.

While joking about losing a bet and having someone else choose her outfit, Kai admitted how deeply golf has shaped her routine and style. “Honestly, if it was up to me, I’d just wear sweatpants and a hoodie. I just like dressing casual,” she said.

“You guys also have to understand, like before I was injured, all I did was just golf after school and work out, and during the weekends, I would golf and work out,” Kai Turmp added, referencing the left wrist injury that needed surgery.

At the same time, she showed another side. “I do want to get more into fashion. I do find fashion really cool and unique,” she said, even adding that it would be "really cool" to walk on the runway.

While injury might have stopped her from moving to the next beat, it actually gave her more room to see in different ways.

Pro Golf has a very specific style code

Most golf clubs are still strict on the wearing of collared shirts, and denim is usually not allowed. Tournament players, for instance, are often required to wear performance polos and specific skirts or trousers.

However, players like Kai Trump are trying to inject this rigid dress code with some personality. Last year, LPGA star Charley Hull also commented about how the right apparel can affect performance.

“If you’re confident in what you’re wearing… it makes you feel confident. If you look good in what you’re wearing, you feel confident. I only think it can help you feel better, play better," Hull said in 2025 in an interview with Sky Sports Golf.

So it makes sense when Kai Trump says she likes wearing sweatpants and hoodies.
