Brooks Koepka understood that his decision to return to the PGA Tour would carry consequences, and nine days into his comeback, those consequences are becoming visible.
Speaking to reporters on February 4, during a pre-tournament press conference at the WM Phoenix Open, the two-time tournament winner opened up about reconnecting with fellow players since his return.
When asked directly about potentially difficult conversations with peers following his comeback, Koepka's response revealed a situation that's still unfolding. He said, "I haven't had any difficult ones. Maybe ones that, I guess, 'just happy to see you back', 'we're glad you're back', type things."

The response suggests a warmer reception than many might have expected.
However, Koepka was quick to acknowledge he hasn't reconnected with everyone yet. He's only scratched the surface of reunions with the Tour's roster, which means the full scope of his reception remains unclear.
Koepka provided context about why conclusions are premature, saying, "But then again, I haven't seen -- there's a lot of guys, I mean, I'm only, what, nine days into this. There's still a lot of guys I haven't seen. So that will be easier to answer probably midway through the year."
So, when will Koepka have a clearer picture of how the Tour has received him?

Besides detailing the current situation, Koepka also set a realistic timeline for understanding the full picture of his reception among PGA Tour players. He said, "That will be easier to answer probably midway through the year."
The question followed Koepka’s earlier suggestion that returning might require some uncomfortable conversations. So far, that hasn’t been the case.
The coming months will say a lot about whether Koepka's PGA Tour opponents continue to greet him with warmth.
So, how do you think Brooks Koepka's relationships with PGA Tour players will evolve as the season progresses? Will his return ease tensions between LIV and PGA Tour pros?
