Brooks Koepka Reflects on What Matters Most in His Career

What defines a great golf career? For Brooks Koepka, it's not about legacy. The five-time major champion recently revealed his surprisingly simple focus is on effort, ensuring he has no regrets when he looks back on his time in the game.
In a recent conversation shared by Matt Adams on X on Friday, the 2023 PGA Championship winner explained that his priority has never been legacy:
“I just try to be the best person, best golfer I can be, and then wherever things settle up, they settle up. I just don't want to look back at the end of my career and say, man, I really could have put more effort in and just give everything I've got, 100% effort, and trying to win as many tournaments and be as dedicated as I can to the game.”
And it doesn't look like Koepka will regret anything. Beyond the majors, Brooks Koepka added 9-time PGA Tour victories, a World Golf Championships title, wins across the European circuit, and titles in Japan early in his career.
Koepka has recorded 21 professional wins worldwide as of early 2026, building his career across multiple tours.
On the PGA Tour, he has nine victories. Among them are the 2019 WGC–FedEx St. Jude Invitational and the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which he won in 2015 and again in 2021.
His victories span multiple seasons in both regular tour events and major global tournaments.
Now, With his PGA Tour Return, Brooks Koepka is Slowly Making His Way Back Up
In 2022, Brooks Koepka joined LIV Golf, where he went on to secure five wins, including titles in Jeddah, Orlando, Singapore, and Greenbrier between 2022 and 2024. He officially returned to the PGA Tour in January 2026 via the returning member program.
While he hasn't found the level of success one might expect from a player of Koepka's calibre, he's making improvements. Following a T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open, a missed cut at the WM Phoenix Open, he's finished T37 at the Cognizant Classic. And he's embracing the hard work he has to put in.
"I guess it's a fresh start for me, which is cool. It's just another chapter, I guess, in my book. I'm excited for that. I feel like my game's in pretty good shape and I want to see where it's at. Obviously this week is a little bit different. But, yeah, would just like to get this week over and just feel like I can start playing golf again. I'm super excited."
