Brooks Koepka Reveals the One Thing He Missed Most About the PGA Tour

After sending shockwaves with his decision to leave LIV Golf, Brooks Koepka is set to return to the PGA Tour this week at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. And on January 27, he reflected on what he missed most about competing on the PGA Tour.
During the Pre-Tournament Press Conference, reporters asked, "What did you miss most about playing on the PGA TOUR?" and Koepka was glad to answer.
"That’s a good question. I think the ability to have my family out all the time. That was one thing because they didn’t travel too much over the last few years. But they’re going to be out this week, so I am super excited to be able to have them out," said Brooks Koepka.
After leaving the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in June 2022, Brooks Koepka spent two seasons on the Saudi-backed circuit, where he recorded five victories.

The LIV Golf League follows a global schedule. Events take place in the United States, Mexico, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. As a result, players face regular international travel.
Over time, the travel load influenced player decisions. For golfers like Brooks Koepka, the shift back to the PGA Tour offered a schedule centered more in the United States, making it easier to spend time with family.
Why Brooks Koepka Chose to Step Away From LIV Golf
The past six months have been difficult for the Koepka family. In October, Jena Koepka shared that she had suffered a miscarriage. Around that time, Brooks Koepka began seeking a release from LIV Golf.
However, Brooks Koepka said that his decision to return to the PGA Tour followed after conversations at home and within his team.
“Having conversations with my wife and my team led to being able to make that decision to come back. There were tough conversations, but it was what was best for me and best for my family,” the five-time major winner said.
Koepka also addressed the personal changes he has experienced in recent months, noting,
“I have grown up a lot the last few years and especially the last few months. Being able to be close to them is super important to me," he added.
