Coming off a tough week at the PGA Championship, Former World No.1 Brooks Koepka is looking forward to a good show at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. He has also taken the necessary steps, as he revealed a change in his putter.

Koepka previously made a change in his putter back in February. He switched from a blade to a mallet head just before the WM Phoenix Open. However, things did not work out in his favor, and he went for another change recently.

On May 20, the former LIV Golf associate said, “Yeah, it's something that just feels good in my hands. I feel like I've struggled with the toe release a little bit, kind of fighting that, kind of holding it off, and this putter seems to have a little bit more toe hang, to get kind of scientific with it or more in depth on it."

“It's got a bit more toe hang than what I have been using all year, kind of similar to the blade. I know the CG's up closer to the front of the face, which is kind of what I'm looking for,” Koepka added.

Koepka has shifted to a Scotty Cameron Fastback 1,5. He also stated that he might have used the putter in Singapore a few years back, while he was associated with LIV Golf.

At the Myrtle Beach Classic, Koepka broke his Spider Tour X after losing nearly three strokes on the greens over the weekend. The five-time major champion finished T11, and the putting struggles had spoiled his contention.

“So hopefully I can just kind some confidence with it and build some momentum off of it. I think I look back at last week, which I'm very kind of annoyed with because I kind of let the last couple holes get away from me just from maybe a little bit of anger or annoyance,” added Koepka.

At TPC Craig Ranch, the 36-year-old will look to improve upon his record after the change in equipment.

How Has The Change Worked for Brooks Koepka?

The change looks to have worked in Koepka’s favour as he started off strong at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson. The former World No.1 shot a bogey-free opening round that included six birdies and one eagle. He ended up scoring 8-under 63.

"I felt good with the putter, I felt good the last few days with it," said Koepka after the opening round.

Koepka has taken the clubhouse lead while defending champion Scottie Scheffler sits three shots behind him. However, Si Woo Kim isn't letting him take the lead alone, as the South Korean shared the T1 position with Koepka at the end of the first round.

So while the putter change seems to be working well for Koepka, do you think he will be able to win The CJ Cup Byron Nelson?
