How many exceptions are too many? 

When Brooks Koepka’s reinstatement was approved, the Tour stated that his entry would not displace another player and that fields would be expanded as needed to complete threesomes.

With Brooks Koepka competing in the WM Phoenix Open, the field currently stands at 121 players; accordingly, two alternates will be added on Monday at noon MT to bring the total to 123 and complete threesomes.

The 2026 WM Phoenix Open marks Koepka’s appearance in four years, after his last PGA Tour victory in 2021. He officially returned to the Tour competition this season at the Farmers Insurance Open through the Returning Player Program.

Tournament chairman Jason Eisenberg confirmed that Sahith Theegala, Joel Dahmen, and Charley Hoffman have been awarded the three sponsor exemptions.

Meanwhile, the WM Phoenix Open schedule begins with practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday, followed by the celebrity pro-am on Wednesday. The first round is set for Feb. 5, with the final round scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8. 

With the field still being finalized, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is set to return to the WM Phoenix Open.

Scottie Scheffler in the Field for the 2026 WM Phoenix Open

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads the field. A two-time winner of the event, he is seeking his second victory of the 2026 season. 

Scheffler arrives after winning last week’s American Express and sitting out the Farmers Insurance Open.

He has earned a lifetime exemption on the PGA Tour with his 20th victory at the American Express.

Alongside Brooks Koepka and Scottie Scheffler, the lineup includes Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland, Tony Finau, Wyndham Clark, Jordan Spieth, Billy Horschel, Max Homa, J.J. Spaun, Ben Griffin, Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Brian Harman.
