Bryson DeChambeau Calls Brooks Koepka's Decision Surprising, Talks About His Contract, and More

After social media jabs and public comments, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka's rivalry turned a new leaf. This time, DeChambeau left a verdict on Koepka's return to the PGA Tour.
"I was surprised. I didn’t know he’d be willing to give that much back. That’s everybody’s prerogative. Everybody has their own wants and needs. Ultimately, for me, I see a tremendous value in Charles [Howell], Paul [Casey], and [Lahiri], and what we’re doing across the globe. I’m excited... I wish Brooks the best..."
Koepka was willing to give up an estimated $50-$80 million to return with the PGA Tour’s reinstatement program. Under the terms of the deal, he will make a $5 million charitable donation, will not qualify for equity shares in the tour's Player Equity Program, nor will he be eligible for a share of the $100 million FedEx Cup Bonus Pool.

Then there’s DeChambeau’s own future. Currently under contract with LIV Golf through the 2026 season, he made it clear he’s focused on fulfilling that deal.
"I’ve got a contract...Hopefully, I’m back next year. I’m excited for the potential of LIV. It just has to make sense for both sides, and we’ll move forward in a cool direction if that’s the case. I certainly don’t want to let [my Crushers GC teammates] down."
But Does DeChambeau see himself as a LIV player beyond 2026?
Bryson DeChambeau isn’t ruling out any options beyond his 2026 season. Koepka’s departure has sparked speculation about the future of other big names in LIV Golf.
Though DeChambeau didn’t say anything directly, as he put it, “I have no idea what’s going to happen in a year. What I can tell you is that we’ll do everything possible to make it make sense for both sides.”
DeChambeau is locked in with a contract that runs through 2026, and at present, he is solely concentrating on that.
