For now, LIV Golf gets some breathing room. At a time when contract uncertainty is already part of the league’s weekly conversation, Bryson DeChambeau has committed to playing the upcoming season. That decision alone matters. His contract still expires in 2026, and there is no extension announced, but at least the immediate questions are off the table.

LIV has already lost Brooks Koepka. Another unresolved star situation would have added pressure the league does not need. DeChambeau's commitment to play this season keeps things steady, at least in the short term.

His importance is not just about star power. It is also about results and continuity. DeChambeau made that clear while speaking about Crushers GC’s plans for next season.

“Keeping this core together for 2026 positions us to build on the momentum we carried out of 2025,” DeChambeau said. “This group knows what it takes to win. We lifted the trophy in 2023 and finished second last season, and that experience fuels our drive to compete at the top week in and week out,” he added.

“We’re a team of competitors, creators, and leaders who take pride in pushing the game forward, and having this group return gives us continuity, confidence, and a clear direction as we raise our standards heading into next season.” He assures that he, along with the team are all set to perform on the course with full confidence.

DeChambeau's comments strongly suggest that LIV pretty much needed to get a clear answer from him, at least for the moment. His fully signed contract details, however, are not clarified yet.

The Contract Talks Are Real, but Far From Done

DeChambeau's current contract, which runs until the end of 2026, is reported to be worth $100 million. And the golfer has been in talks to extend that contract for a while now.

"We're looking to negotiate [at the] end of this year, and I'm very excited," Bryson DeChambeau said in June last year, as per ESPN. Yet, the extension hasn't materialized.

In an exclusive conversation with Tom Hobbs of Flushing It Golf on December 28, 2025, DeChambeau addressed his LIV Golf contract directly.

“I mean, look, it’s confidential. I’m not going to share too much, but the conversations are in process,” DeChambeau said. “I think that can happen, but you never know. Life throws curveballs.”

That is clearly a sign that there are still open doors. However, for the moment, LIV Golf manages to avoid another headache. The questions are only postponed, not removed.
