Bryson DeChambeau drove a golf ball 391 yards onto a green last year at Mexico City, and Club de Golf Chapultepec didn't forget his unique feat.

LIV Golf posted an X update on April 18, which displayed that the authorities honored DeChambeau's achievement with a plaque at the Mexico City course. The plaque reads: “LIV Golf, Bryson DeChambeau, First Round, 391 YDS, 25 April 2025.”

The 32-year-old did this in the first round of the 2025 LIV Golf Mexico City event. On the par-4 first hole, DeChambeau hit the ball very hard from the tee. It rolled all the way onto the green from 391 yards away and stopped about 35 feet from the hole. He then made a birdie with two putts.

The crowd went wild, actually, and DeChambeau raised both arms to celebrate. Later, when he was asked if it was the hardest he had ever swung a driver in a tournament, he stopped for a moment and asked, “Maybe. What was the ball speed?”

When he was told it reached 196 or 197 mph, he smiled and said, “I was pumped.”

He finished that round at 8-under 63, the lowest opening round he had ever shot in LIV Golf. He took a one-shot lead over Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith going into day two.

The course is 8,000 feet above sea level, and the thin air helps the ball go even farther. Actually, DeChambeau averaged 377 yards off the tee that day and hit two drives over 400 yards. Eleven players also hit drives over 400 yards on that day. Still, his 391-yard drive onto the green was the shot everyone talked about.

It later won Drive of the Year at the inaugural LIV Golf Showcase in January 2026, officially measured at 410.8 yards.

Bryson DeChambeau Also Walked Away With Two LIV Golf Showcase Awards for 2025

Bryson DeChambeau honestly had a big night at the LIV Golf Showcase. However, he didn’t leave with just one award but with two.

He won Drive of the Year for his 391-yard shot at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City. He also got Win of the Year for his performance at LIV Golf Korea in 2025, and both awards went to Crushers GC.

In total, 22 awards were given to 13 players, with Joaquin Niemann named MVP, Jon Rahm winning Clutch Player of the Year, and Phil Mickelson taking Shot of the Year.

DeChambeau picked up two awards by the end of the night, and one of them has already been marked out in Mexico City with a plaque showing where his big drive landed.

Club de Golf Chapultepec has seen plenty of top golf over the years, and it hosted the WGC Mexico Championship from 2017 to 2020. Many well-known players have played there.

So tell us where you would put that 391-yard drive? Have you seen anything better in LIV Golf?
