Bryson DeChambeau says "anything else is a loss" ahead of The Open Championship

Bryson DeChambeau will be heading to Royal Birkdale to turn his season around. The LIV man has failed to make the cut at three consecutive majors, but is still keeping his standards high.
Last year’s Open Championship remains the last time DeChambeau made it into the weekend at a major. This time around, he aims to cross the line.
"I'm not trying to send a message to anybody other than me and myself, and knowing what I know I can do," DeChambeau said. "You know, if I don't win, I'll be disappointed. Anything else is a loss, whether it's second or anything past that, you know?”

It has been a series of missed cuts for DeChambeau this season. A win at Royal Birkdale would be an answer to his self-doubt.
Before this season, the 32-year-old was on a good run of form at the majors.
Last year, DeChambeau came in tied for 10th at Dunluce. His best finish came back in 2022, when he finished tied for 8th. He wants to find his groove once again.
"Yeah, it's always nice to play well and have a good finish, and you're always proud of yourself, but at the end of the day, you know, I'm a competitor, and I care about winning and doing my best, and, hopefully I can do that this week," said DeChambeau, as reported by The Mirror US.
As Scottie Scheffler steps onto Royal Birkdale to defend his title, DeChambeau will aim to ruin his party.
Ahead of the Open, DeChambeau had his say on his game as well as on the course.

Bryson DeChambeau completed his practice rounds and made a fair assessment of his game. According to him, his wedge work is getting solid.
"They're getting better," DeChambeau said, as per The Mirror US. "I steepened my angle of attack, so it feels a lot better. Hopefully it showcases out there."
DeChambeau has struggled with his wedges throughout the season. At the Southport course, the two-time major champion will exert a lot of control over his long tee shots.
"You have to control your golf ball out here, and there's a lot of tricky areas," he said. "A lot of dog legs, and you get to make sure you place the ball in the correct part of the dog legs, so you have a good shot into the greens,” he added.
With a cautious approach, DeChambeau will first need to make the cut and end his disappointing run. Following which, he can battle it out for the Claret Jug.
