Is it rage-baiting or just misinterpretation?

In a viral 15-second clip shared by Bryson Legion on X, Dan Rapaport is seen asking a question about the best American on LIV Golf , and the moment has been interpreted by some as Bryson DeChambeau being left out of the conversation entirely.

“Besides Brooks Koepka, who’s the best American on LIV now? Is it T.J.? Is it Taylor — you know, who’s past his prime? Is it Taylor Gooch? I mean, their best players are Rahm and Niemann and Patton,” Dan Rapaport asked in the video.

But the full conversation tells a different story. In a longer 38-second clip shared by Johnny on X, he pointed out that Rapaport and Shipnuck had already discussed DeChambeau about a minute before the viral snippet begins, which is why his name doesn’t come up again in that moment. 

As Johnny wrote: “They already talked about Bryson a minute before that clip starts, so that’s why they didn’t mention him.”

Alan Shipnuck said LIV has always operated on a 10-year plan and is now about halfway through it.

Shipnuck said the only question left is whether they have the stomach to see it through. If they do, they will do whatever it takes to keep Bryson DeChambeau, because that is what keeps LIV relevant.

Shipnuck also called DeChambeau “the biggest needle mover in the game” and warned that if LIV loses him, Jon Rahm could be next. While LIV would still continue due to its commitments, it could end up limping along without star power.

Now that the PGA Tour has introduced its one-time Returning Member Program, allowing eligible players who left for an unauthorized tour to rejoin under strict conditions, the focus shifts to whether LIV’s biggest names will consider making the move back.

What are Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm’s 2026 plan

DeChambeau will play the final year of his current LIV Golf contract in 2026 and continue as Crushers GC captain.

DeChambeau aims to win LIV events while also chasing a career Grand Slam in the majors, where he is exempt through at least 2028 after winning the 2024 U.S. Open. 

Meanwhile, DeChambeau is negotiating an extension with LIV, with reports linking a possible deal to a figure above $500 million. 

If a new agreement is not reached, DeChambeau has said, focusing on his YouTube channel and playing only major championships could be a viable path from 2027 onward.

On the other hand, Rahm remains committed to LIV Golf for the 2026 season and will continue as captain of Legion XIII. 

Rahm recently turned down a chance to return to the PGA Tour through its returning member program, pointing to the financial penalties and his preference to stay with LIV.
