Charley Hull Sends Clear Signal Amid "Will This Be Her Year?" Buzz

Feb 26, 2026, 5:02 PM CUT

Charley Hull had not even seen the golf course yet. She arrived a day late and was still tired from jet lag. But she still walked into the press conference looking very confident, like the player everyone should worry about.

She came to the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore on Wednesday, February 25.

Hull had strong momentum, following her big career win in the PIF Saudi Ladies International tournament.

So when a reporter cited a Sky Sports Golf promo asking, “Will 2026 be Charley Hull’s year? Will she win her first major?” Hull didn’t think too much about it and just gave a straightforward answer.

"I always really want to win a major. That's my goal. Obviously had quite a lot of second-place finishes in majors, I'll get there. Just carry on enjoying and not put too much pressure on myself. It's just a game at the end of the day," she said.

Hull always suffered heartbreak when it came to the Majors. In the 2016 Chevron Championship, she tied for second place. She finished second again in both the 2023 U.S Women's Open and the Women's British Open.

Unfortunately, that's not all. Her latest gut-wrenching finish came last year, as she once again tied for second in the Women's British Open.

She’s not just saying big things. She’s playing great, too. In her last 8 tournaments, Hull hasn’t finished worse than top 20. Five of those were top 5 finishes, and she even won two of them.

Does Charley Hull's Form Finally Match the Major Moment?

Here's an honest take:- it’s starting to feel like this could really be her year.

For a long time, people said the same thing about Hull: that she’s a great player, but she can’t finish a major.

Each time, she came so close. And each time, it hurt a little more.

But Riyadh changed things. She was three shots behind with only nine holes left. Many players would feel nervous in that moment, but she didn’t. She played great golf, scored six under on the back nine, made a long 60-foot eagle putt, and won by one shot.

That is the type of strong finish people had been waiting to see from her in major tournaments.

Last summer, she injured her foot at the Centurion Club and had to wear a medical boot for several weeks. It was a difficult time, but the break gave her a chance to rest and think.

When Hull returned, she looked more focused and stayed calmer during tough moments.
