3-time LPGA winner Charley Hull’s $100,000 fake scratchcard prank on her longtime caddie, Adam Woodward, has not gone down well on the internet. Viewers have called the act "a shocker."

Ahead of the AIG Women’s Open, Hull had gotten hold of a $100,000 fake scratchcard in Blackpool. She made Woodward believe it was real, and the caddie jumped around in elation. However, the truth broke him, and social media had none of it.

"He's taken his hat off, he's taken his glasses off, he's literally running around the Players' Lounge saying, I've won $100,000, I'm taking today off," Hull briefed the moment in the AIG Women's Open press conference as posted by NUCLR GOLF on July 30.

However, the caddie's joy was short-lived.

Charley Hull is currently featuring at the AIG Women’s Open, but the viral prank has brought her to the spotlight. Amid the firestorm, Hull broke her silence.

"And then we had to tell him it was fake, and he nearly quit the job," she added in the same presser.

Hull wouldn’t mind doing the prank all over again.

“Yeah, 100 percent. He thought it was funny after. He’s not uptight, like, it’s a joke,” she said, as per GolfWeek's Beth Ann Nichols. “If people don’t like it, they can lump it, do you know what I mean?”

Hull will look to keep this matter behind her as she looks to get her hands on the AIG Women’s Open title and $1.5 million winner’s payout.

A fun moment between a player and a caddie is quite common. One of golf’s most well-known pranksters, Lee Trevino, once used a fake rubber snake to scare his caddie and nearby players while getting ready for a tournament.

However, Hull received heavy criticism.

In the comment section of the NUCLR Golf post, the fans made their feelings clear about the three-time LPGA Tour winner. However, to some fans, Hull did not show her professionalism.

“Good times, huh Charley? Must have been a real hoot experiencing your caddie’s disappointment. And his shock at realizing it was you who did it. Nice,” wrote an X user.

According to LPGA's official site, Hull has official career earnings of $12.4 million, and still she did not show any sympathy to the caddie, which made one fan upset.

“HATE this. Hull is worth millions while her caddie based on 10% is far from it & the prank ticket likely equaled his annual earnings which would be life changing for him,” wrote another X user.

In fact, fans wanted the LPGA Tour pro to pay off her caddie the $100,000 as a bonus, just for playing with his bare emotions. After all, Woodward has been Hull's trusted caddie for nearly 11 years.

“Go win a tournament and get him that 100k. Stop playing with your caddies emotions,” wrote an X user.

Another fan created a scenario for Hull to feel what the caddie must have gone through.

“I hope he accidentally puts 15 clubs in your bag and you're lose the Open with a 2 shot penalty,” wrote an X fan.
