After opening the 2026 season with a win at the PIF Saudi Ladies International and climbing to World No. 3, Charley Hull is now dealing with a different challenge away from the leaderboard.
The English LPGA star is still dealing with the effects of the ankle injury she suffered after tripping over a curb ahead of the 2025 PIF London Championship. Talking to reporters in a press conference at Maketewah Country Club, Hull shared her thoughts on the injury.
"I feel good. It's just annoying because I can't really get back to running or anything like that. So it is quite annoying and it quite a lot of -- it's quite hard managing my ankle, because it wasn't just my ankle,” Hull shared via ASAP Sports.
Despite dealing with the aftereffects of her ankle and back injuries, Charley Hull still opened 2026 with one of the strongest stretches of her career.

“I know I tore the ligament in my ankle and snapped it, but then it affected my back and everything as well. So it wasn't just that. It was kind of like a snowball effect, so it was quite annoying. And it's quite annoying sometimes because when the temperature drops, I notice sometimes like I do find it harder to swing. But oh, well," added Hull
She won the PIF Saudi Ladies International, climbed to a career-best World No. 3 ranking, and added multiple top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour, including at the HSBC Women's World Championship and the Chevron Championship.
Hull Revealed Her Approach for the Kroger Queen City Championship
Charley Hull has already experienced both disappointment and victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship over the last few years.
After falling short in a playoff against Minjee Lee in 2023, Hull returned in 2025 and closed out the tournament with a one-shot win over Jeeno Thitikul at TPC River's Bend.
Now back at the event while continuing her recovery from ankle and back injuries, Hull spoke about the mindset she wants to carry into the week.
"Well, I want to come and defend it obviously, but I'm not going to try to be too golf-obsessed. Just go out and enjoy myself," said the 30-year-old during the conference.
