"Could Be Completely Made Up": Brooks Koepka’s Honest Confession About Today’s PGA Tour

Brooks Koepka is back on the PGA Tour, but he says it feels different. During a press conference, Koepka confessed he has a lot of catching up to do.
Koepka returns home to play at the Cognizant Classic, running from February 26 to March 1, for the eighth time. This is the third PGA Tour start after suddenly parting ways with LIV Golf in December 2025.
In the pre-tournament press conference on February 25, he talked about connecting with people he has been out of touch with and those he has never met before.
“Honestly, there's probably more guys I've just had to introduce myself to. There's a lot of people I don't know,” Brooks Koepka said.
“I remember reading a stat years ago where every four years there's a 50 percent turnover, something like that. I could be wrong. That could be completely made up, too, so I don't know. I remember reading that,” he added.

The “50% turnover” may also mean that approximately 50% of the players with full tour status may not have it four years down the line.
“But it seems about right, for as long as I've been out here. A lot of faces I don't know. Playing with guys, it's good to see guys you haven't played with in a while, too," he said.
While the 50% stat isn't official, Brooks Koepka has been away for the last three and a half years. During that time, he played in LIV Golf, becoming the first individual player to win five LIV Golf tournaments. So there's definitely some new faces.
Brooks Koepka Talks About New Players That Caught His Eye
“Chris, pretty good, considering he's won twice. I haven't played with him. I've obviously watched him hit balls and seen his results, and I think that's pretty good,” says Brooks, on the new young talent of the PGA Tour.
The Nike-sponsored Chris Gotterup has been creating buzz considering his recent PGA Tour wins. “But I would say that's a name that probably sticks out right now. Another Nike guy.” Brooks comments, appreciating the work being put into Chris’s games.
“Everybody has been talking about him for a while, so it's good to see.” Koepka comments.
With a new putter and a few changes, Brooks Koepka is all set to improve his gameplay and prepare for the upcoming games this season.
