Jeongeun Lee6 moved from one event to the next without a break.
Lee6 won the 2026 IOA Golf Classic on March 15, 2026, marking her first professional win since the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open. She finished the 54-hole event at 13-under-par 200 and secured a one-shot win over Jiwon Jeon at Alaqua Country Club in Longwood, Florida.
Going into the final round, she was part of a three-player tie for the lead. From there, she posted a 6-under 65, which included one eagle and seven birdies.
She closed the round with a birdie on the par-3 18th to confirm the result.
Jeongeun Lee6 then took a flight to California for the Monday Qualifier at the Fortinet Founders Cup. The timing left little room for rest, but she chose to continue.
Lee6 arrived early in the morning and went straight to her friend’s house before heading to the course.
She said she reached around 4:20 a.m., took a hot shower, and chose not to sleep, as she felt it would make her more tired. Instead, she spent some time stretching, had breakfast, and then went directly to the tee box.
Even with the schedule, she decided to play.
“I worried about the schedule because I had a red-eye flight, and then we got the 7:40 a.m. tee time, but it was the first qualifying opportunity, so I wanted to try,” Jeongeun Lee6 said, according to the LPGA Tour. “My condition was not bad.”
From there, the 29-year-old settled into the round. She reached the turn at one under, but a bogey on the back nine shifted the situation. Then the round changed.
Jeongeun Lee6 Finds Turning Point With Hole-in-One at Fortinet Founders Cup Qualifier
Jeongeun Lee6 explained the turning point: “On hole four, I made a hole-in-one, and that's good momentum.” She added, “On the next hole, I made birdie, so I made the Monday Qualifier. I'm so happy.”
The shot came from 127 meters with an 8-iron, though she did not see it go in at first.
“We couldn't see the ball going in because there was a big slope on the right side,” she said. “And then on the green, I didn't see my ball... Oh my god, very lucky and during a qualifying round.”
That sequence secured her place in the field. She moves into the Fortinet Founders Cup after making it through the qualifier, continuing her run from the previous event.
What do you think of this turnaround? Would you have teed it up with no sleep?
