Twenty major players competing with their family members have arrived at the 2025 PNC Championship, with Nelly Korda and her father Petr Korda making their fifth appearance at the event, held at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.
Korda and her father addressed the media ahead of the event. During the exchange, shared via ASAP Sports, the conversation took a familiar turn when Petr was asked how he had seen his daughter grow as a person over the past year. However, Korda didn't let Petr finish.
Nelly Korda Laid Out Her Plan
After calling 2025 a “phenomenal year," Korda's father started explaining. “It would be my ideal to manage the pace for her. I think it's a –” he said before Nelly Korda cut him off and took the lead.
“I’m going to take over from here,” she said, cutting in with a smile. Korda then laid out her thoughts plainly. Her ideal season, she explained, sits around 18 to 20 tournaments. Anything more, especially four consecutive starts, pushes her body beyond its limits.

She spoke openly about fatigue, travel, sleeping in unfamiliar beds, and how physical wear eventually affects mental sharpness. “If my body is not 100%, it’s very hard for me to give that 110%,” she said.
While Petr Korda admitted his preferred number of tournaments differs from his daughter’s, he stopped short. “No. I have a different number,” he said when asked if he agreed with the 18-to-20 range, before adding, “but I agree with her, balance is important.”
Korda’s 2025 LPGA Tour season concluded with her competing in 20 official tournaments, the most recent being the Grant Thornton Invitational from December 12–14, 2025. It seems she'll keep that number consistent instead of pushing for more activity.
