A devastating fire brought Stourbridge Golf Club to ruins. Only six holes were left unharmed, and more than a million dollars would be required for complete restoration.
On August 13, a fire on Racecourse Lane struck Stourbridge Golf Club. However, chairman Simon Markey has received a lot of support.
"We've now got a sense of what we need to do to try to rebuild the golf club, and we've got a renewed sense of optimism,” said Markey. “One of the scariest things that I've ever witnessed.”

Apart from six holes, the course was reduced to ashes. On top of that, hundreds of trees, 600m of hedgerow and a storage building were afflicted with serious damage by the fire.
Despite massive tree damage, support has been plentiful from emergency services, neighbours, and other clubs.
"It's shocking to understand that we're probably going to lose somewhere between 800 and 1,000 trees,” Markey added, as per BBC's Josh Sandiford and Andy Giddings.
The damage to households was severe as the fire destroyed 19 homes and damaged 18 others. More than 100 firefighters worked to contain the blaze across 500 acres.
On Saturday, the golf club is set to reopen, and Markey is looking forward to facing the situation with optimism.
Two days before this incident, a similar situation unfolded in Cornwall.
Similar wildfire strikes Cornwall's Golf Club
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service did its best on 11th August to tackle two massive wildfires in Cornwall. Mawgan Porth Golf Club and a nearby solar farm were affected.
As reported by the BBC, the Mawgan Porth scene was seeing "a significant smoke plume, and the public are asked to keep windows and doors closed and not to attend the area".
Temperatures peaked at 38 degrees Celsius. Reportedly, a tractor was topping a field and hit a stone. That created a spark and led to the wildfire.
The fire crews were quick to rush to the scene and deal with the situation. They also dealt with a separate fire in the Porth area of Newquay.
