Golf Saudi brings another major revelation to women’s golf. The Championship, staged in London since 2021, will become a co-sanctioned LPGA and Ladies European Tour event from 2027.

Golf Saudi's partnership deepens, reflecting their stated priority to support women's sport globally and domestically.

“Our approach to women's golf is built around the growth of the game in the Kingdom – it is the foundation of everything we do,” said Noah Alireza, CEO of Golf Saudi. “The players on this stage are the engines of that growth.”

With the co-sanctioning, the Championship will now find a spot in both the LPGA Tour and LET schedules.

It will take place from 19th to 25th July next year, occupying a premium position in the summer schedule.

A $4 million prize fund will be up for grabs, making it one of the largest events in women’s professional golf.

“We’re excited to add this championship to the LPGA Tour schedule alongside the LET,” said LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler, per LPGA's report.

Golf Saudi also extended its multi-year partnership with the LET, a relationship that began in 2020.

Golf Saudi's domestic push is also accelerating.

Grassroots growth in Saudi Arabia

Golf Saudi has been working to enhance grassroots golf in Saudi Arabia and across the Arab world. A major event like The Championship will augment that cause.

“Our ambition is for Saudi women and girls to see a future in golf – as players, coaches, and leaders," said Abeer AlJohani, Vice President, Saudi Golf Federation Office, per the same LPGA report. "Championships like this give aspiring athletes a powerful sense of what is possible.

As a result of various initiatives across the Kingdom, more than 15,000 people have signed up for golf lessons in Saudi Arabia. 4,000 are on the waiting list; more than a third of them are women.

Golf Saudi has planned to build academies and also create a new LPGA Professionals programme. They aim to have 30,000 registered golfers within five years.
