“Got a Tremendous Opportunity at LIV Golf:” Bryson DeChambeau Once Explained How His Move to the Saudi League Paid Off

USA Today via Reuters

Bryson DeChambeau’s career has rarely followed the expected script.

So when he sat down with Gary Williams on the 5 Club of Golf, even Williams admitted, “I think nobody has benefited more from doing what you did because I think you got your equilibrium… Is that fair?”

Bryson didn’t hesitate and replied, “Yeah, Gary, it’s very fair.” For DeChambeau, LIV wasn’t just a tour; it was a platform. “I got a tremendous opportunity over here at LIV Golf to promote my YouTube channel and promote the Crushers, what I’ve been trying to create for the past couple of years,” he explained.

From there, DeChambeau started taking his ambition to the next level. He described the transition as “an upward battle to get to where we’re at today.” And then brands were also coming aboard, with Reebok being one of the biggest, and DeChambeau credits LIV for that. “The dominoes are kind of starting to fall,” he said, pointing to how companies were re-evaluating the league and its reach.

And there is always a battle that goes on between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. DeChambeau didn't frame LIV as a rival but called it an addition. “I feel like there’s space in this ecosystem… to have multiple ways to consume professional golf,” he said. “Ultimately, it will be an additive.” Because ultimately, that would benefit players and fans once the dust settled.

As he summed it up, the move wasn’t just about where he played but about everything he could build around it. Everything since he started LIV Golf has simply confirmed he chose the right arena.
