Multiple hole-in-ones are something many golfers never make in their whole career. Yet, back in August 2024, President Donald Trump revealed he had eight.
During the interview with PGA memes' Travis Miller, the POTUS revealed the hole-in-one that became memorable because of the copy he had.
That day, President Trump was playing with South African golf legend Ernie Els, Ken Duke, and Jean van de Velde.
"I think we were playing a fivesome, actually, and on the sixth hole, I had a par five, that's par-3, that was one hundred eighty-eight yards. There was a little wind in the face, a little bit, and I hit a five iron, and it took one bounce and one in the," said the US President.
The short even earned the 45th and 47th presidents a compliment from Els. "Ernie said, 'Nice shot.' He was my partner. We had a good partnership going. That was great," added Trump.
However, President Donald Trump didn't just talk about his experience playing golf. He also showcased his knowledge about the sport he loves.
From Bryson's Bunker Shot to Hogan's Zero: Trump Knows His Golf History
The 79-year-old praised Bryson DeChambeau's U.S. Open-winning 60-yard sand shot, saying he called it before the putt even dropped.
"If he makes that putt, which he will, but if he makes that putt, that'll go down as one of the top five shots ever hit," Trump said.
He pointed out that Art Wall holds the all-time hole-in-one record at 48, while Ben Hogan, widely considered one of the purest ball-strikers ever, reportedly never made one.
However, President Trump revealed that he didn't really believe a legend like Hogan had ever made a hole-in-one.
"That's cuz he hit it so good. It just went," joke, Trump. However, that may not have been a joke at all.
James Dodson, who wrote Hogan's biography in 2005, explained that Hogan's accuracy in hitting flagsticks ironically cost him multiple tournaments, as he wouldn't get birdies.
So, from hitting ole-in-ones to knowing his golf history, it may be safe to say that the POTUS is a true enthusiast. Tell us what you think in the comments.
