US President Donald Trump was seen in a clip on the Fox News' The Five on Thursday and decided golf was more interesting than politics.

He dropped a line about Tiger Woods and the Masters that's got everyone confused.

The actual problem here is nobody has a single clue if Trump's got legitimate information, if he's speculating about his friend, or if the clip's even real.

When Tiger Woods was mentioned during the interview, Donald Trump gave an answer that made many fans doubt.

"I love Tiger, but he won't be there," Trump said before pausing. "He'll be there, but he won't be playing in it."

NUCLR GOLF shared the video on X. Later, it went super viral, and Donald Trump never explained his source, which kicked off a massive debate among golf fans. Some believe Woods personally told him, while others think Trump looked at Woods' injury problems and drew his own conclusions.

Woods just competed for the first time in months during the TGL final. Jupiter Links GC, his team, got demolished 9-2 by the Los Angeles Golf Club. Woods only swung nine times during the entire match alongside Tom Kim and Max Homa. He didn't try to spin it afterward either.

"We got our a** kicked at the end," Woods said. Still felt good being back, though, he added.

Watching Woods at TGL got some folks thinking he might actually take a crack at Augusta. Woods has been working overtime trying to get healthy. He admitted that his body doesn't bounce back like it used to. Woods confirmed he's attending Rory McIlroy's Champions Dinner too, which fired up speculation about a potential Masters run.

Trump's statement changes everything. If he's correct, Woods attends the Masters week without entering the tournament. That's significant because Woods hasn't publicly announced he's skipping it.

Is This Actually Real or Just US President Donald Trump Talking?

Riley Hamel over at Skratch Golf raised something worth thinking about once the clip started making rounds: what if it's fake? Deepfakes in 2026 can fool just about anybody.

Fox News isn't some sketchy outlet, but Hamel's got a point. You can't always trust what you're seeing anymore.

Trump's words definitely brought expectations back down. Woods probably shows up for the Masters week without playing. Can't know for sure, though, until Woods or somebody working with him actually confirms something.

What do you think about Trump's comment on Woods and the Masters? Does he actually know something, or is he winging it? Let us know in the comments!
