LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau was full of praise for US President Donald Trump on Sunday during a White House Christmas reception held on December 14.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the reception, which brought together athletes, donors, and supporters. DeChambeau was among the guests, where he took the microphone after the President and First Lady addressed the room.

“I’ve got to thank the President of the United States,” DeChambeau said before praising the POTUS. “He is such an amazing human being. What he’s done not just for our country, but for every single person he goes and interacts with, is absolutely incredible.”

The LIV start continued with compliments about Trump’s ability on the course. “His iron play is actually probably better than mine right now,” said DeChambeau. “His putting has improved significantly lately. He’s a great golfer, better human being, and we’re all lucky to have him as President," added the golfer.

DeChambeau’s remarks were consistent with his earlier assessment of Donald Trump's golf game following a round they played together in 2024 for DeChambeau’s YouTube channel, Break 50. Speaking afterward, DeChambeau highlighted Trump’s consistency and ball-striking.

“Man, his iron play was great,” DeChambeau said at the time. So, it's safe to say that DeChambeau has maintained his stance based on firsthand experience and praised Donald Trump. And he's not the only one.

Jack Nicklaus Also Praised Donald Trump

Golf great Jack Nicklaus (the Golden Bear) has also publicly rated him highly years before Bryson. Speaking to Bloomberg in 2019, Nicklaus was asked to name the best golfer among the US presidents he had played with.

“Well, the ones I’ve played with, actually, Donald Trump is probably the best player,” Nicklaus said. “Trump plays pretty well… He can hit the ball, and he goes out and plays and just enjoys it.”
