World No.1 Scottie Scheffler’s eight-stroke victory at TPC Southwind has locked in a $23 million bonus and put him within striking distance of Tiger Woods' all-time earnings record.
Heading to TPC Southwind, Scheffler already had a comfortable lead at the top of the FedExCup rankings. Now, with the massive eight-stroke win, he has sealed his place as the No.1 no matter what unfolds at this week’s BMW Championship.
Scheffler has secured an additional $23 million bonus as the FedExCup leader.

The prize comes in two divisions, with $22 million being bonus money and the remaining $1 million coming as deferred money. The deferred money will be added to the World No.1’s PGA Tour retirement or pension account, as per the PGA Tour's report.
Besides the FedExCup bonus, Scheffler has already earned just above $20 million on the PGA Tour this season. His two wins and five runner-up finishes this season have driven the $20M total.
With the BMW Championship and the season-ending Tour Championship yet to be played, Scheffler has more than $43.5 million in the bank.
The FedExCup distributes bonuses across the top 125 finishers, with payouts scaling sharply from $13M at No.2 down to $100K at rank 125.
After the end of the BMW Championship, the No. 2 will win $13 million in bonus money. Following him, the No. 3 will earn $8 million.
Fourth- and fifth-place finishers will secure $6.5 million and $5.4 million, respectively. The 30th-place finisher, who will secure the final spot at the Tour Championship, will take home a $460,000 bonus.
The top 30 will then set foot at East Lake on equal footing. Players from ranks 101 to 125 will get a $100,000 bonus.
At Bellerive, Scheffler could create history by becoming the PGA Tour’s all-time top earner.
Scottie Scheffler hunting down Tiger Woods’ financial record
With the win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Scottie Scheffler secured a $3.6 million payout.
Now he is just a million shy of the great Tiger Woods at the top of the all-time PGA Tour earnings list.
Woods’ earnings on the Tour are close to $121 million, whereas Scheffler has secured close to $120 million. The 15-time major winner has been at the top for more than 26 years.
At Bellerive, Scheffler can take the throne by registering a three-way tie for third or better finish. The World No. 1 comes in as a favorite, and Woods’ longstanding record might just be broken.
