Then Comes the Type of Ticket

Once you understand the lottery, the next detail matters: the type of ticket. There are two categories.

Practice rounds take place from Monday to Wednesday. These days are less structured, and players interact more with the crowd. Wednesday also includes the Par 3 Contest.

On the other hand, tournament rounds run from Thursday to Sunday. These are the official competition days, and demand is higher. Because of that, these tickets are harder to secure.

Why Availability Is So Limited

At this point, a key factor explains all Masters badges.

These badges work like long-term passes. Many have been held by the same families for decades. Each year, holders renew them, which means very few tickets return to the system.

Because of this structure, only a small portion of tickets is available through the lottery.
