Joaquin Niemann looked calm as he walked up the 18th hole during the playoff, but he later admitted that he was actually very nervous. The Chilean golfer confessed that his heart was still racing when he spoke to LIV Golf's broadcaster just moments after making the winning putt at Asiad Country Club to lift the LIV Golf Korea title.

The win was Niemann's eighth LIV Golf title, with which he created the record for the most wins in the league's history. Niemann beat Talor Gooch with a birdie on the first playoff hole after both players finished the tournament at 12-under par after 54 holes.

It was Niemann's first LIV Golf victory of 2026 and increased his lead as the player with the most individual LIV Golf titles, with three more wins than anyone else. "I'm not going to lie, I was pretty nervous," Niemann told LIV Golf's broadcaster immediately after the win. "I think my heart rate's a little bit up. It's a little shaky. I just love this game. I love being in these moments."

On the playoff hole, Joaquin Niemann hit a gap wedge from 150 yards and put the ball within six feet of the hole. He then made the birdie putt to win the tournament.

During the round, he had struggled to choose between a pitching wedge and a 52-degree wedge for similar shots. But in the playoff hole, he made the right choice when it mattered most.

"Then we got to 18 on the 72nd hole, same number, and I was like, it's going to be a reason we're going to hit the wedge right now," Niemann said. "Hit a great shot, pin high."

The final round was a direct battle. Niemann made four birdies in a five-hole stretch on the front nine before Gooch drew level with a 28-foot birdie putt at the 16th. The playoff settled what 54 holes could not.

Niemann's individual victory was only part of Sunday's story. The team competition also made history with an important achievement on the same day.

Crushers GC Claim Record 10th LIV Golf Team Title as DeChambeau's Side Defends Korea Crown

Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers GC won the team title at LIV Golf Korea with a total score of 23-under par. They finished three shots ahead of Talor Gooch's OKGC.

It was Crushers GC's 10th regular-season team victory, the most in LIV Golf history. The win moved them ahead of Legion XIII and 4Aces GC on the all-time team wins list.

Reserve player Travis Smyth stepped in for the injured Paul Casey and finished tied for eighth alongside Charles Howell III, making him just the second reserve player to celebrate a LIV Golf trophy.

"I didn't want to be the fill-in guy that disappoints the team," Smyth said. "I'm over the moon."

DeChambeau was equally grateful. "Just grateful, super grateful that I've got amazing guys, an amazing team," he said.
