Three-time major winner Lydia Ko has made changes to her equipment bag for the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. Just before the tournament, Ko explained why she didn't need an endosmenet to make the change.

During her pre-tournament press conference at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club on January 28, Lydia Ko was asked whether there was any new equipment in her bag.

Lydia Ko replied that she recently added new wedges. "I have the new SM11 wedges, which I got last week. And I am not endorsed. I’m not endorsed. I truly believe the Vokey wedges are the best, so I just have those," Ko told the press.

"I upgraded, I shouldn’t say upgraded, but changed into my 440K driver versus the 430 10K. It was a big move, which this too I’m not endorsed. I have no club deals. The 430 10K, my coach said I almost have an emotional attachment to this driver, so it was a hard decision to make," she added.

However, after reviewing performance data and ball flight on the course, Lydia Ko said the change produced results she was satisfied with, identifying the wedges and driver as the main updates to her bag.

"But the numbers and the shot shapes that I’ve been seeing on the golf course with my new 440K have been great. Those two are probably the biggest changes I made," said the 28-year-old.

Lydia Ko’s Titleist Vokey Design SM11 Wedges and PING G440 K Driver

The Titleist Vokey SM11 wedges are built to manage spin and control ball flight on short-game shots. The line offers multiple options to match different playing needs.

In total, the SM11 range includes 27 combinations of loft, bounce, and grind. These options are spread across six sole grinds: F, S, M, D, K, and T. Each configuration is designed to accommodate different swings and course conditions.

The PING G440 K, commonly called the 440K, was released in early 2026. It follows the G430 MAX 10K in PING’s driver lineup. The model focuses on stability through a high moment of inertia.

In its highest setting, the driver exceeds 10,300 g-cm² of MOI. This places it above the previous 10K benchmark.

In addition, the driver introduces adjustable weighting. A 32-gram tungsten back weight can be set to draw, neutral, or fade positions.

The face is made from forged T9S+ titanium. Variable face thickness is used to retain ball speed on off-center strikes.

A high-launch build is also available. This version uses a lighter back weight and lighter shafts. Retail pricing ranges from approximately $649 to $705 in the U.S., depending on configuration.

So the question is: Will the two new clubs help Lydia Ko win the LPGA event?
