With LIV Korea knocking on the door, current KPGA Tour Genesis Points leader Doyeob Mun has joined Korean Golf Club, replacing Danny Lee. The move has been questioned by another team in the league.

Korean Golf Club made the announcement on X, with Lee set to shift to a Wild Card role for the remainder of the season.

“Is that allowed?” The 4Aces GC responded to the move on Instagram.

With the official confirmation, it looks like no rules of the league were broken with the erratic roster change.

Korean Golf Club further stated in their announcement that the team was excited to have Mun on the roster, and the 34-year-old will be present at the team’s press conference for LIV Golf Korea on Tuesday afternoon.

The team rebranded itself ahead of this season. Formerly known as Iron Heads GC, the roster changed as Kevin Na departed and former PGA Tour player Byeong Hun An took up the role of captain.

Now, the team has replaced Lee, who has one PGA Tour title and one LIV title to his name.

However, Lee was the lowest-ranked player on the team in this year’s individual rankings before Mun came into the picture.

After the switch, every player on the Korean Golf Club team is now South Korean, and Lee joins the Wild Card category that includes Richard T. Lee, Yosuke Asaji, Bjorn Hellgren, Miguel Tabuena, and Jeongwoo Ham.

Mun has been performing at a high level recently, and that must have been the primary reason for his inclusion on the team.

What Does Doyeob Mun Bring Into The Team?

Mun brings with him a rich run of form and will aim to uplift the team.

Currently OWGR No. 203, Mun is the sixth-highest-ranked player from his nation. He turned pro in 2013 and features on the KPGA Tour as well as the Asian Tour.

Last year, Mun secured the GS Caltex Maekyung Open and the KPGA Founders Cup. Just over a week ago, he lifted the KPGA Gyeongbuk Open and has also finished in the top 10 in each of his last five starts.

Mun is the current KPGA Tour Genesis Points leader, and in 2025, he finished 20th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit.

Mun’s addition bolsters the team’s chances of securing their first LIV title on home soil this week.
