Torque GC’s captain, Joaquin Niemann, co-leads LIV Korea at the Asiad Country Club in Busan. With momentum in his favor, he looks to end a season-long winless streak

LIV Golf’s youngest captain displayed nothing but dominance last season as he lifted five titles. This time around, he’s yet to cross the line but was in fine form in the third round of LIV Korea.

The Chilean ended the third round with six birdies and two bogeys, eventually scoring a 4-under 66. He caught up to OKGC captain Talor Gooch, who posted a bogey-free 69.

“Sure. It's obviously a nice feeling to win, and we're out here for that. But I'm just more focused on what I'm doing now and the way I'm hitting the ball, just trying to keep chasing that trajectory that I'm seeing in my head, so that's what I need to do,” said Niemann after the match.

Niemann’s putting was top-notch, especially on the back nine. Gooch landed three long birdie putts, including the incredible 34-foot putt at the 14th hole.

“Putter did behave a lot better today than the first two days, so pretty happy about that,” said the 27-year-old, as per FOX Sports. “It did love me a lot. I did love it a lot, too.”

Niemann also sits among the statistical leaders this week as he ranks first in greens in regulation at 79.63%, having hit 43 of 54 greens.

Both Niemann and Gooch sit at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 9-under.  They will tee up in the same final group for the first time since the 2022 LIV Golf Boston.

However, just behind them is HyFlyers GC’s Scott Vincent, who's hungry for his first win.

Scott Vincent Sits Closely Behind The Co-Leaders

HyFlyers GC’s Scott Vincent is fighting for his first LIV individual title. Having come in as a substitute for captain Phil Mickelson, Vincent has made the most of the opportunity.

“Winning out here is not easy,” said Vincent, as per LIV Golf. “I think just big picture-wise, just putting myself in this position is just great for me, try and get better and develop as a player.”

The 34-year-old shot a 3-under 67 on Saturday, helping him to close the gap to just one stroke at the top. Currently sitting at 8-under, the Zimbabwean continues his rich run of form.

Having started the season as a Wild Card player, Vincent has finished top 10 in each of his first two starts with the HyFlyers GC.

At the Asiad Country Club, he has a genuine chance to get his hands on his first title on the rebel tour.
