Jon Rahm turned professional in 2016, but he might not have thought that he would hold such a record.

Popular British PGA-qualified golf professional and YouTuber Rick Shiels asked Rahm if there is a single greatest achievement so far in the game of golf. The answer, and especially Rahm's expression, shows how humble he is. "I'm the first European to win the Masters and the US Open," Jon Rahm told him.

Rahm won the Masters in 2003 and the U.S Open in 2021. After a short pause and with a surprising expression, Rick asked. “Ever?” To which Jon Rahm casually replied, “Yeah, to win them both."

In the Instagram clip uploaded by the LIV Golf League, Rahm’s expression clearly shows he is proud, but he trusts his talent. Rahmbo also has a record of staying world number one in the Official World Golf Ranking and, more importantly, holding it for over 50 weeks.

Though Jon said casually, "I thought being the first Spanish player to win the US Open would be there, but I was the first one to win both."

What makes this achievement rare?

Jon Rahm’s casually says, “I thought being the first Spanish player to win the US Open would be there, but I was the first one to win both.”

It is important because no European had won both until Rahm did it. In fact, there were only two non-Americans who had this feat before Jon Rahm, Gary Player, and Angel Cabrera.

As Jon Rahm commented after seeing Rick's expression. "You're as surprised as I was!"
