Jon Rahm Shuts Down Questions About What Comes Next With LIV Golf

In golf, there are rarely concerns about one person’s future, but for the LIV Golf UK event, such was the case. Rahm had to answer more about his future in the tournament, rather than his play.
When asked bluntly whether he foresees himself playing for LIV through 2027, Rahm responded diplomatically.
"I'm not going to share anything that I can't share with you guys right now," he told reporters in an interview before the tournament at JCB Golf and Country Club.

His reluctance is odd for a professional golfer who had just signed a contract of more than $300 million at the end of 2023 and won two consecutive individual tournaments.
“We know a lot of what’s going on. Not that I can share with you guys right now… I’m always optimistic. I play a game for a living, " Jon Rahm said.
However, with the Public Investment Fund now moving away from being a supporter of LIV, the deal that once seemed untouchable is now uncertain.
The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) stated that it would effectively terminate its association with LIV Golf on Thursday, April 30, 2026, stating that it would not finance the venture post the 2026 season.
Rahm was open about the shock of losing this support.
"We did hear the news that there would be funding through for many years, so unexpected," Jon Rahm said ahead of LIV Golf Virginia in May, explaining how he was trying to take early news as rumours.
This shock comes due to the sums involved.
The billions of dollars promised by PIF had backed LIV's whole idea. With their exit, litigation is being initiated; the Louisiana tournament, which was originally supposed to take place between June 25 and June 28, 2026, in Bayou Oaks at City Park, New Orleans, got cancelled.
While Rahm’s future outside the golf game remains uncertain, his performance inside the game has always been consistent.
Jon Rahm's Dominance in LIV Golf Sets Up His Future Value
Ever since Rahm joined LIV Golf towards the end of 2023, he has been the best player in the league.
He is currently the captain of Legion XIII and has bagged the individual tournament title for two consecutive seasons.
His consistency has proven that too. In 26 tournaments over two seasons, Rahm has been out of the top 10 just once, finishing tied for 11th in Dallas in 2025. He has claimed four individual victories in the process.
In this season alone, Rahm has achieved victory in two tournaments, Hong Kong and Mexico City, with two second-place finishes in Adelaide and Andalucía.
Currently, he has 928.58 points, leading by 284.18 points from LIV golfer Bryson DeChambeau, who is in second position.
His performance on the golf course does back up his numbers.
Rahm is hitting 77.93 percent of greens in regulation and scrambling at 67.13 percent efficiency, which is what makes Legion XIII number two in the team rankings as the season comes closer to the end.
