Justin Thomas vs Jordan Spieth 2025 Earnings: Comparison Between the Best Friends of PGA Tour

Dec 17, 2025, 1:00 AM CUT

Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth have been defined as much by friendship as rivalry. They have competed against each other since around age 13, growing up on the same junior circuits and pushing one another along parallel paths through amateur golf before reaching the PGA Tour.

As of December 16, that long-running rivalry takes a financial lens. Using Spotrac’s PGA Tour earnings data, a side-by-side look at their 2025 seasons shows how differently their results translated when measured not by finishes, but by prize money earned.

Justin Thomas’ 2025 Earnings

Thomas’ season was shaped by a handful of very big weeks. The defining moment came at the RBC Heritage, where he won and earned $3.6 million, the single largest payday between the two players all season. That alone created immediate separation.

He added major paydays with runner-up finishes at The American Express ($959,200) and the Valspar Championship ($948,300), followed by another high-value result at the Truist Championship ($1.76 million for second). Deep runs in elevated events and a strong showing at the Tour Championship ($1,121,670) continued to push his total upward.

Thomas missed cuts at the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, but those losses were outweighed by his ability to convert contention into wins and podium finishes.

Spotrac lists Thomas’ total official PGA Tour earnings at $10,896,159.

Jordan Spieth’s 2025 Earnings

Spieth’s year was built on steadiness rather than spikes. He recorded multiple top-10 finishes, including T4 at the WM Phoenix Open ($414,000), T7 at the Memorial Tournament ($603,200), and fourth at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson ($485,100). He also added solid paydays through consistent play at the Masters ($336,000) and RBC Heritage ($226,056).

Spieth did not win in 2025. He also missed cuts at the Genesis Invitational and the PGA Championship, and withdrew from the Travelers Championship, removing opportunities for higher earnings weeks.

His season was productive, but it lacked the one result that changes the shape of a money list.

Spotrac lists Thomas’ total official PGA Tour earnings at $3,159,660.

Justin Thomas And Jordan Spieth Earning Comparison

A clear financial separation between the two can be seen.

Justin Thomas finished the year with $10,896,159 in official prize money, while Jordan Spieth earned $3,159,660, resulting in a difference of $7,736,499.

The gap reflects how earnings were accumulated rather than how often either player contended. Thomas’ total was formulated by a small number of high-value results, including a win and multiple runner-up finishes in elevated events with larger purses.

Spieth’s earnings, by contrast, were built through consistent cuts made and steady finishes across the schedule, without a single week that dramatically shifted his total.

Over the course of a full PGA Tour season, those patterns tend to influence the final numbers, even when both players remain competitive throughout the year.
