Kai Trump Shares Honest Update After Surgery, Reveals Golf Return Timeline

Kai Trump's return to the golf course has officially begun. Ten weeks after a significant wrist surgery, the young star shared a major update on her recovery.
She also revealed a detailed timeline for when fans can expect her to be back in full swing. Trump shared the update on her YouTube channel on Saturday.
“I am actually able to putt finally. It’s been a long, long time coming. It’s been about 10 weeks since I had surgery on January 6th, so it’s been around 10 weeks or so,” she said on the Q&A video she posted on March 21.
The procedure focused on stabilizing the tissues of the ECU tendon and the damage to the triangular fibrocartilage complex.
“It has been such a long process and such an emotional roller coaster, but we’re almost there. I can start chipping in in three more weeks. Right now, it’s really just putting,” she added.
Despite making progress and sharing that she can now putt and expects to start chipping in the next three weeks, she had planned to record a golf video. However, those plans were put on hold due to continuous rain in Florida.
“Today I was going to do a golf video, but it has been pouring in Florida for like the past week, and it’s going to continue pouring for the next week, so I can’t really do a golf video,” the 17-year-old shared.
Kai Trump on Documenting Her Recovery Journey
Kai Trump also spoke about how she plans to capture this phase of her recovery:
“I am going to be filming a longer video, kind of from before I got surgery to when I’m able to hit a ball again. I won’t really be able to hit a ball until May. It’s a long time.”
Kai Trump is currently a high school senior at The Benjamin School, with graduation expected in May 2026. She is preparing for her move to college golf at the University of Miami, where she is set to join the Hurricanes women’s golf team for the 2026–2027 season.
At the same time, she has resumed training following her wrist surgery and continues to share updates from her sessions as she builds toward her freshman season.
Alongside golf, she maintains a strong digital presence, with a large following across platforms, where she regularly posts content from her routine and daily life.
Her long-term aim is a future in professional golf, a journey that began with her debut at The Annika in November 2025.
