LIV Golf Confirms Return to Mexico City for 2027 at Club de Golf Chapultepec

LIV Golf made a bold announcement during a week full of questions about the league's finances, that it will return to Club de Golf Chapultepec for LIV Golf Mexico City 2027.

It will be the fifth straight year LIV Golf has played in Mexico and the third year in a row at the Club de Golf Chapultepec.

A ticket waitlist is already open at LIVGolf.com. Official dates and ticket sale details will be announced later.

Ross Hallett, LIV Golf’s executive vice president and head of events, also spoke about what Mexico City means to the league.

"Mexico City has proven to be an incredible home for LIV Golf's world-class events, and our fans continue to embrace the competition, music, culture, and energy that make LIV Golf an inclusive experience for everyone," Hallett said.

"We can't wait to return in 2027 as we continue our mission to grow the game of golf around the world."

This week’s event brought many fans to Chapultepec over four days, and Los Ángeles Azules and SOFI TUKKER performed live. There were also Alebrijes shows, cooking demos, and even a Kids Zone for children.

The home team, Torque GC, has Mexican players Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz, along with Chilean captain Joaquin Niemann and Colombian Sebastian Muñoz. They give the event a strong local feel.

Bryson DeChambeau's Withdrawal From LIV Golf Mexico City

Sunday also brought bad news for the LIV Golf players.

Bryson DeChambeau withdrew before the final round after feeling pain in his wrist during Saturday’s third round. He shot 71, 71, and 73, and was at 2 over, 16 shots behind leader Jon Rahm.

"I experienced some discomfort in my wrist during yesterday's round and have decided to withdraw from the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City to prevent further injury," DeChambeau posted on social media. "Not how I wanted this week to go, but wishing the Crushers a strong finish."

Luis Carrera of Mexico stepped in for DeChambeau in the Crushers GC lineup. DeChambeau is targeting a return at LIV Golf Virginia, set for May 7-10. The week before Mexico City, he missed the cut at the Masters after a triple bogey on the 18th hole.

It was a rough few weeks for the two-time U.S. Open champion.
