Defending champions Jon Rahm and Legion XIII seek their first win of the season.

The event will have both individual and team competition, and it will be played at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Naucalpan, Mexico. According to LIV Golf, the tournament will run from April 16 to 19.

This time, there will be 57 players in the field, which also includes 13 teams of four players and five wild cards.

All four rounds will start with a shotgun start, and as per the report, play begins on Thursday afternoon local time and starts earlier on the last days.

LIV Golf has already played six events in six countries in 2026, and one of them was in South Africa, where more than 100,000 fans attended. Now, the focus turns to the competition, and several top players are in good form.

Rahm Leads Defending Champions While DeChambeau Arrives in Strong Form

Jon Rahm and Legion XIII return as the defending team champions from Mexico City. Also, the team won last season’s Team Championship, but they are still looking for their first win of 2026.

Rahm has been in strong form this season. He has one win, three runner-up finishes, and one top-five finish in his opening starts.

Bryson DeChambeau comes into the event in strong form after winning the last two tournaments, both in playoffs. The Crushers GC captain now has five individual LIV Golf wins.

He also has 15 total trophies from team and individual events, more than any other player in the league. A win this week would make him the first player to win three LIV Golf events in a row.

The LIV Golf Mexico Course at Chapultepec

The Club de Golf Chapultepec is actually more than 7,000 feet above sea level. The high altitude causes shots to travel farther, though distance control becomes significantly more challenging.

The course was designed by Willie Smith and completed by Alex Smith. Over the years, it has seen several updates and changes.

Some holes have been lengthened, while parts of the fairways and greens have been reshaped. Water areas have also been expanded, and many trees have been cleared over time.

Despite these updates, the layout still demands precision and careful club selection to account for the thin air.
