It’s finally some good news for LIV Golf. After losing out on PIF’s funding, the rebel tour has reportedly secured a new $250 million investment and looks ahead to the upcoming seasons.

After PIF withdrew funding on 30 April, LIV CEO Scott O'Neil pursued $300M in new investment and has now reportedly succeeded.

According to the New York Post, LIV Golf is on the cusp of landing new investors. This secures LIV's runway into 2027.

As per New York Post's Mark Cannizzaro, blue-chip investment firms will be the anchor investors that could save LIV Golf. They have already sent multiple written commitments that would ensure the league heads into 2027 and beyond.

The PIF had clarified that LIV Golf is "no longer consistent with the current phase of its investment strategy." However, the new capital unlocks a restructured league.

The prospective “anchor” investors have handed qualified term sheets, and a financing syndicate to support the league’s long-term goals is on the cards.

High-level meetings are reportedly scheduled at LIV’s next event in New Jersey. O’Neil and LIV golfers will be present in these setups at Trump Bedminster.  

The deal will be signed in September, as per sources, although no official comment has been made by O’Neil or LIV management.

LIV Golf will take a major hit in funding as the PIF had reportedly rolled out $5 bn in just five years. The new investment will begin a new era for the rebel tour.

The remainder of the 2026 LIV season is still to be played, and Cleeks GC captain Martin Kaymer had his say on that.

Three events remain on the LIV calendar for this season. LIV Golf New York is all set to happen next week. LIV Golf Indianapolis is also on the cards in late August. 

However, Cleeks GC captain Martin Kaymer believes the season-finale team event LIV Golf Michigan will not take place.

“I know that Indianapolis most likely is happening. There was a conversation yesterday. Michigan, highly unlikely,” Kaymer said at LIV Golf UK. “We are disappointed. There were talks; I heard yesterday actually on the Golf Channel that Indianapolis could become a team event instead of Michigan. That we don’t know.”

LIV Golf could either turn the Indianapolis event into a team event or conclude its season without a single team event. The Michigan event may be struck off, just like June's New Orleans one.

LIV Golf will certainly look forward to concluding this season as quickly as possible and moving on to the next with the new investment.
