LIV Golf Reveals New Face of One of Its Oldest Teams Amidst All the Chaos

Jan 13, 2026, 5:36 AM CUT

LIV Golf has been through a series of setbacks following Brooks Koepka’s departure, Bryson DeChambeau’s contract remarks, and the launch of the PGA Tour returning member program.

Amid these setbacks, LIV Golf has undergone internal repositioning. The Korean-born veteran-led team, Ironhead Golf Club, is moving forward with a renaming and relaunch, including a new name and new logo.

On January 13, LIV Golf announced that Ironhead Golf Club will compete as the Korean Golf Club for the 2026 season.

The new identity references K-culture and defines the Korean Golf Club’s position within LIV Golf and the international golf framework.

The rebrand “reflects Korea’s growing influence on global golf culture.”

Through this change, the Korean Golf Club presents a golf format that combines competition with cultural references.

Martin Kim, general manager of Korean Golf Club, said: “Our tagline ‘Welcome to the club’ is reflective of the opportunity we saw to create a new space for young fans showing up. KGC is a brand that stands for the golf movement in Korea and Koreans around the world. We’re all beyond excited.”

What does the Korean Golf Club design entail

Korean Golf Club unveiled a new logo featuring Baekho, the white tiger. The rose of Sharon, known as mugunghwa, and Korea’s national flower.

According to a statement from LIV Golf, the white tiger featured in the Korean Golf Club’s logo draws from Korean folklore and historical references.

The white tiger is described as representing protection and continuity linked to the team and its national roots.

The design also incorporates a reference to golf, with the tiger’s eyes and the bridge of its nose forming the outline of two golf clubs.

The rose of Sharon, South Korea’s national flower, is included within the Korean Golf Club’s roundel to reference national identity and cultural context.

About the Korean Golf Club

The Korean Golf Club, formerly known as Ironhead Golf Club, transitioned from league ownership to leadership under general manager and owner Martin Kim.

Following that change, the team appointed Byung-hoon Ahn as captain for the 2026 season. He leads a roster of South Korean players that includes Young-han Song and Min-kyu Kim.

The inaugural LIV Golf Korea was held from May 2–4, 2025, at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. Attendance at the event included a large number of younger fans.

The tournament followed the LIV Golf format, which included on-course music, a fan village with interactive activities, and the absence of traditional “Quiet Please” signage.

Following the tournament, the rebrand was shaped by local fan response observed during the event.
