LIV Golf Season Finale in Michigan Facing Cancellation Amid Unpaid Vendor and Contract Disputes

LIV Golf's season-ending Team Championship in Michigan is on the verge of being cancelled. Multiple contractors have had their travel and accommodation bookings pulled.
Some say they haven't been paid in months.
Golf podcast Flushing It reported on July 25 on X that contractors working on the Michigan event have had bookings cancelled, with money still owed across multiple vendors.
A LIV insider told the outlet that even the championship rings haven't been paid for.

On July 23, Flushing It also reported on X that multiple LIV players said they did not expect the Michigan event to go ahead, with nobody inside the league able to confirm whether it would be played.
Cleeks GC captain Martin Kaymer put the odds in plain terms. "Michigan, highly unlikely," Kaymer told Ben Parsons of Today's Golfer on July 23. "So basically, what we already knew." He gave the event a 5 percent chance of happening. "Of course, we are disappointed," Kaymer added.
A decision on the Michigan event is expected next Tuesday. The course infrastructure buildout at The Cardinal has not started. Kevin Doyle, COO of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, which oversees The Cardinal, declined to comment on the state of the buildout.
LIV already cancelled its New Orleans event earlier this season. The league has not hosted a tournament since its event in Spain on June 4-7, a gap of nearly seven weeks. Three events remain on the 2026 schedule: Trump National Bedminster in New Jersey on Aug. 6-9, Indianapolis on Aug. 20-23, and Michigan.
Kaymer said Indianapolis most likely is happening. No such assurance exists for Michigan.
LIV Golf is also facing a growing list of lawsuits
The vendor payment issues are separate from the league's legal problems.
Mobii Systems Group, a Canadian tech company that supplied LIV's "Any Shot, Any Time" streaming feature, filed a lawsuit in Florida federal court last week claiming LIV owes $1,134,634.34 in unpaid invoices, breach of contract and interest, per Front Office Sports.
LIV last used the feature at its Virginia event in May.
LIV also lost its partnership with the Asian Tour this week. CEO Scott O'Neil is continuing meetings with potential investors, pitching a reduced model with fewer events and smaller prize pools.
He would not guarantee all remaining 2026 events would take place when asked in June.
