J.T. Poston has been one of the standout performers at the Memorial. The 33-year-old is determined to end his winless streak and revealed what has stopped him from crossing the line at events.
Poston earned the PGA Tour card in 2017 and has secured three titles since then. His last victory came in October 2024 at the Shriners Children's Open, and Poston has been looking for his 4th win ever since.
“But I've also played this game long enough, been out here long enough to know that these stretches come. It's not the first time I've had these ruts. It's maybe the longest one that I've experienced so far, but have always come out the other side of it. So just tried to stick to what I'm doing and play good golf.” said Poston.

Poston made all the headlines at the Memorial with his stunning second-round performance. The three-time PGA winner scored a 7-under 65, hitting eight birdies.
“A day like today's going to give me a lot of confidence going into the weekend and the rest of the season and hopefully kind of carry that momentum,” he added.
As other players struggled due to the wind, Poston thrived. He was nine shots better than the field average. Heading into the weekend, the American had a one-stroke lead over Ryan Gerard.
“Yeah, not necessarily with the results, like you said, but, yeah, I feel like the game's starting to get there. It's tough. I mean, there's such a fine line between playing well and having some good results out here and not feeling like you're playing bad, but finishing 30th, 40th, 50th place.” Poston said.
Poston is yet to record a top-20 finish this season and looks well on his way to achieving that at Muirfield. He has left top contenders like World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and World No. 2 Rory McIlroy behind.
Moreover, two-time major winner Justin Thomas, who had a round to forget on Friday, heavily praised Poston’s performance.
Ever since his win in 2024, the American has had some close calls on the tour. Let’s take a deeper look.
J.T. Poston Pointed Out What Is Stopping Him From Securing Titles
In October 2024, J.T Poston won the Shriners Children's Open by one stroke over fellow countryman Doug Ghim. Following that, he came close to crossing the line but failed every time.
Last year, Poston recorded a T5 finish at the PGA Championship and a T7 finish at the RSM Classic.
“I feel like I've had a lot of weeks where I've just had a tough nine-hole stretch, and that was kind of what kept me from having a good result,” said Poston.
Poston was in strong contention to secure the Wanamaker Trophy last year but ended up hitting six bogeys in the last round.
Similarly, at the 2025 RSM Classic, his hopes were marred by three bogeys on the back nine in round three.
Poston will be determined to perform consistently at Muirfield and put an end to his winless streak on the PGA Tour.
