Looking Back at Justin Thomas and His Team’s Earnings After Winning TGL Last Year as Season 2 Takes Shape

Jan 6, 2026, 5:30 PM CUT

The second season of TGL is already on the way, which may prompt many to recall how Justin Thomas and his team, the Atlanta Drive GC, bagged a boatload of money by winning the league's inaugural edition.

Thomas and Co. dominated most teams in the 2025 season to book a place in the SoFi Cup finals, where they took on New York Golf Club.

While the winner was to be decided through a best-of-three method, Thomas and the Atlanta Drive GC sealed the deal by winning the first two matches 6-5 and 4-3.

Besides gaining the pride of being the first-ever SoFi Cup champions, team Atlanta Drive GC pocketed a whopping $9 million as the winning prize, with each member receiving $2.25 million.

The New York Golf Club received $4.5 million for finishing in second place, followed by the Los Angeles Golf Club with $2.25 million, The Bay Golf Club with $2 million, The Jupiter Links Golf Club with $1.75 million, and finally the Boston Common Golf Club with $1.5 million.

But while Thomas's team won the tournament, Tiger Woods' side, the Jupiter Links Golf Club, failed to perform as expected, finishing in fifth place.

After a dominant previous season, Thomas and his team began the 2026 edition of the tournament on a positive note as well.

Justin Thomas and Co. repeated their 2025 TGL finals feat early in 2026

Thomas and his team secured a relatively comfortable victory against the New York Golf Club in the first match of the TGL SoFi Cup finals. However, it was Billy Horschel's mastery that helped the Atlanta Drive GC win the second installment of the finals to lift the SoFi Cup in 2025.

The story of the second TGL finals repeated itself early in the 2026 edition of the tournament, as Thomas and Horschel's side defeated the New York Golf Club once again in the inaugural match of this season.

Horschel played a significant role in getting his side over the line this time as well. His 37-foot eagle putt helped the Atlanta Drive GC defeat the New York Golf Club 7-5.

However, it remains to be seen whether Thomas and Co. manage to secure a two-peat by winning the tournament this year.
