Yana Wilson has chased her dream since age 10, using yearly vision boards to map her future, a mindset and work ethic that have now brought that dream to life.
In her first LPGA season, Wilson shared her story in an LPGA article after earning promotion from the Epson Tour with two 2025 wins at the Reliance Matrix Championship and the Dream First Bank Charity Classic, and joining Ford’s Power Her Drive mentorship program.
"For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to play on the LPGA Tour," Wilson said in a clip posted by LPGA on X. "I grew up watching my idols make history and dreamed of that same life for myself."
Her golf heroes included Michelle Wie West and Annika Sorenstam. She imagined standing beside them on the first tee and used yearly vision boards to stay focused on winning majors, reaching the Olympics, and becoming the best in the world.
That mindset even shows up in the quotes she leans on, including one from Michael Jordan.
"Heart is what separates the good from the great," Wilson said. "Dreaming is the easy part. It's the years of training and discipline and sacrifice that are hard. Days that you don't have it and show up anyway, that's where the heart lives."
That mindset has been consistent since childhood, shaping the vision boards she built every year and now showing up in her early results on Tour, as she now sits No. 99 in the race to CME Globe.
That early dedication still shapes her career today.
Behind Every Round Is a Parent, a Range, and a Promise
Behind every round is the support of her parents, whose sacrifices continue to drive her. She is not just focused on her rookie season, but on reaching the Solheim Cup, winning majors, and setting new records in the game.
"I want to make those I love proud and to prove that their sacrifices were worth it," Wilson said.
She started falling in love with golf the first time her father took her to a driving range. She spent hours trying to make contact with the ball and kept going until she did.
That same stubbornness is what she believes separates people who dream from people who actually get somewhere.
"Talent is nothing without heart. Goals are nothing without purpose. And dreams are nothing without a vision." Wilson said.
