Major Champion Georgia Hall Announces a Brief Break From Her Career Due to a Special Reason

Georgia Hall announced a temporary break from professional golf.
That's because Georgia Hall and her fiancé, Paul Dunne, are expecting their first child, a baby boy due in early 2026. The announcement came via the official website and Instagram account of the AIG Women’s Open.
"I’ve kind of played a normal schedule up until just after the AIG Women’s Open at Porthcawl and then obviously haven’t been playing much the rest of this year due to being pregnant. ”

The announcement comes on the back of getting engaged to DP World Tour winner Paul Dunne just a few months ago. And it's a strange feeling for Hall.
"[I've been] playing on tour for over 10 years, just [thinking about] me, quite selfishly … now, having a family … it will be nice having a son to come and watch, and to see him there"
The pause, however, is not open-ended. Hall has already set her sights on a return window.
“Obviously, I’ve never been through any of this, so hopefully, if it all goes OK, I’m looking at coming back around June time, maybe late June... For me to come back and play here [ Royal Lytham & St Annes] where I won in 2018 is very special."
Hall’s reference point is her breakthrough victory at the 2018 Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes, where she became the first Englishwoman to win the championship since 2004.
For now, Hall’s focus is not on scorecards or schedules, but on navigating a first experience that sits outside the rhythm of tour life with the intention to return.
