At the Bandon Dunes Resort, America’s Michael Block battled out for a spot at the PGA Championship. For the fifth consecutive year, Block aimed to qualify for the Championship. However, his wife, Val, wished for something different.
"My wife, I don't think she even wants me to qualify," Block said. "We all know [Aronimink] is 7,600 yards and there's no rollout and I'll get my a** handed to me, so it's probably better that I don't play in it. But at that same time, it's really cool, so that's kind of the predicament that the Block family is in."
The PGA Professional Championship remains the primary path for club professionals to set foot on the PGA Championship. This week, Block and the rest featured at Oregon for a spot at the 108th edition of the major.

With Block and his wife wanting different outcomes from the PGA Professional Championship, the American found himself in a tricky position after three rounds.
Block stood tied for 43rd before the final round. The top 20 earn a spot in the field at the PGA Championship. However, he was just three shots away from the group.
Block ended the third round with a score of 6-over 78. It was a respectable score considering the intense 30mph wind the club professionals had to deal with at Bandon Dunes.
"I'm from Southern California, so I'm used to about 3 mph winds and the greens rolling about 11 or 12 [on the Stimpmeter]," said Block. "Whoever wins this, whoever gets this done, they'll deserve it. Everyone's playing the same stuff. It's tough."
Before Wednesday’s final round, Block admitted he felt good with his game and had to improve upon his tee shots.
As of now, the PGA Professional Championship has concluded. Let’s find out if Block could cross the line for his fifth consecutive appearance at the major.
Block’s Performance In The Final Round Of The PGA Professional Championship
